Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service
Over the past seven years, Arizona Serve and the Yavapai County AmeriCorps Project have honored the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by motivating hundreds of residents throughout Yavapai County to make Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service a “Day on, not a day off.” This year, Arizona Serve will be facilitating numerous service projects for MLK Day on Monday, January 20th, 2014 both in Yavapai County AND in Tucson.
Local volunteers will join hundreds of thousands of Americans who are participating in MLK Day of Service projects in all fifty states as our country continues to honor the legacy of Dr. King by volunteering on this national holiday.
MLK Day of Service calls for Americans from all walks of life to work together to provide solutions to our most pressing national problems. The MLK Day of Service empowers individuals, strengthens communities, builds partnerships, creates solutions to social problems, and moves us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a “Beloved Community.”
Keep an eye on our website and blog for more specifics about Arizona Serve’s MLK Day Service Projects in both Yavapai County and Tucson! We look forward to you joining us on this important day!
