The United Way Student Ambassador program strives to place motivated high school seniors who express an interest in the education or nonprofit sectors with elementary & middle school teachers to assist in their classrooms to gain firsthand experience in the field. It also offers a way to get money for college without large student loans. The main goal is to teach vital career skills and target first-generation college-bound students. The service-learning initiative, which was piloted in 2019, has been a major success and provides a path for youth to pursue higher education with debt-free opportunities. The United Way of Yavapai County is a strategic partner that provides expansion support as well as help with fundraising initiatives. It takes $30,000 to support this program, consider joining us and pledge to sponsor one of our area youth.
