Barb is the Volunteer Coordinator and Funds Development Specialist at Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation. YC4KF serves the unmet needs of abused, neglected, and abandoned children who are in the care of the Yavapai County Juvenile Court – Prescott and qualified youth who have aged out of that court’s jurisdiction. With community engagement and volunteer interactions are limited during the time of COVID-19, Barb was eager to continue sharing the mission of her organization in a safe way. She decided to launch the “Through Our Eyes” webinar series!

This series was designed to provide firsthand insights from the many amazing people working with foster youth in Yavapai County. Within the series so far, Barb has highlighted the stories of former foster youth, Court Appointed Special Advocates, foster parents, and more. In August, she will be speaking with more foster parents, including Greg Mengarelli, Mayor of Prescott, about their unique families!

Barb hopes this series not only gives community members the chance to learn more about the foster care system in Yavapai County, but also inspires them to get involved in any way that they see fit! The webinars can be viewed on the Foundation’s Facebook page every Thursday at 6:30 PM. If you have any questions about how to get involved or about the webinar series, Barb can be reached by email at barb@yavapaicasaforkids.org.
